UnitedHealthcare and its affiliates, including UnitedHealthcare of the Midwest, Inc, recently sent a letter advising you of changes to its network of contracted laboratory service providers effective January 1, 2007. We understand these changes may raise some questions, and we hope to clarify some of the issues that may affect your practice.

Christian Hospital, Northwest HealthCare and NetworkReferenceLab are currently participating in the UnitedHealthcare networks and will continue to be available to provide laboratory services on an "in-network" basis to your patients on and after January 1, 2007.

Although LabCorp is the national contracted services provider for UnitedHealthcare, Christian Hospital, Northwest HealthCare and NetworkReferenceLab remain regional participating providers for laboratory services.

Those performing laboratory tests in your offices are not affected by these changes.

We support UnitedHealthcare's efforts to direct laboratory referrals to in-network providers and are available to work with those of you affected by UnitedHealthcare contract changes.
